APPLY FIRST AID (Senior First Aid)

Delivered by NVR RTO - Eurobodalla Adult Education Centre (6558)
This is the nationally accredited First Aid course (HLTFA301C, formerly known as Senior First Aid), delivered in a flexible one-day format. Complete approx. 10 hours home study in a workbook, then attend a 1-day practical training and assessment session with a qualified tutor. Includes demonstration of AED "heart starter" processes. Certificate valid for three years. Qualification Issued: Statement of Attainment - HLTFA301C Apply First Aid from Cert II in Emergency Medical Service First Response (HLT21107); Health Training Package. (HLT07)). CPD Points 16

YOUTH MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID

Stephen Perry & Graham Parry Accredited YMHFA instructor
This award winning, nationally accredited program teaches adults about adolescent development and how to assist adolescents who are developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Course covers assisting in crisis situations such as: suicidal behaviours, self harm, acute stress reaction, panic attacks, psychotic behaviour, effects of alcohol and drug misuse and aggressive behaviours. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, eating disorders, Psychosis and substance misuse. Any interested adult can attend.

CREATING RESPONSIBLE CHILDREN PARENTING WORKSHOP

Parenting is hard work. It seems to be getting harder and parents are feeling like they are fighting their children just to get the simple things done let alone the difficult things. Ask parents what they want in their children and they will say they want happy, respectful, capable and resilient children who will be well equipped to find their way in the world. In most cases they are well on the way to achieving this but at home the same children manage to act in just the opposite way.

This talk is designed to change all that. This is about practical and easy strategies that can be used at home to get kids to behave for you like they do when they visit somewhere else. Yes: those friends who tell you what wonderful kids you have. It's not a dream. It can happen. Come along, bring a list of things you would like to change and hopefully leave empowered to go home and shift the balance back in your favour without all the emotion. This is all about creating responsible children.

This award winning, nationally accredited program teaches adults how to provide initial support to adults experiencing a mental health crisis or developing a mental health illness. Participants will learn how to help in crisis situations such as: suicidal behaviours, acute stress reaction, panic attacks and psychotic behaviour. Participants will learn the signs and symptoms of mental health problems such as depression, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia and bipolar disorder.
