The Eurobodalla Adult Education Centre (Adult Ed) is an independent community focused organisation, developing and delivering responsive training & education programs. We aim to help people develop skills, knowledge and experience for social, economic & personal improvement. We are supported by the Board of Adult and Community Education and are a not-for-profit incorporated organisation.OUR GOAL: "To create opportunities for adults to participate in quality lifelong learning in Eurobodalla Shire".

STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES
Click HERE to download ADULT ED STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES INFO (109kb file - new window)EAEC can provide support, advice and services which assist students to identify and achieve their desired learning outcomes, including: Language, Literacy and Numeracy assistance; Flexible Learning and Assessment procedures; Advice on welfare and guidance services available to support them to enroll and participate in further education.
QUALIFICATION RECOGNITION
Adult Ed recognises AQF qualifications and Statements of Attainment issued by any other RTO and has written policy and procedure to support this process. Students can apply for Recognition of Prior Learning and Credit Transfer.ENROLMENT, PAYMENT & CONCESSIONS
Enrolment:- Your place in the class is only confirmed upon receipt of payment
- We need enrolments one week prior to course commencement or it may be cancelled. (Enrolments will be accepted later than this)
- We can not run courses at a loss and usually need 6 enrolments before a course can start
- CREDIT CARD - over the phone or in person
- CHEQUE
- CASH
- MONEY ORDER or
- EFTPOS
WAITING LISTS
Waiting lists are used to indicate your interest in a course but it does not guarantee you a place and you are not obligated to enrol. People on waiting lists will be informed when a course is planned or when an enrolled student cancels.REFUND POLICY
- Refunds are issued by cheque if the Eurobodalla Adult Education Centre cancels a course
- Refunds are not issued once a course has commenced and student withdraws
- Refunds for students withdrawing from a course will only be given if withdrawal is advised at least 7 days prior to course commencement
- All student-initiated withdrawals incur an $8 administration fee
DO YOU NEED HELP WITH THE COST OF DOING WORK RELATED COURSES?
The following agencies may be able to assist you. Conditions apply so contact the agency directly for more information.The Transition to Work Program may assist people who have been caring for children or other dependents and now want to enter or reenter the workforce. The Personal Advisor - Centrelink may assist sole parents and careers with training. Call 136 150 for all centres.
If you have participated in Work for the Dole or Intensive Support with a Job Network Agency, you may have a training account. Discuss your options with your job Network case manager.
Job Network Agencies - Delivering Australian Government Employment Services. If you are on Intensive Support with a Job Network Agency you may be eligible for assistance with the cost of work related courses, contact the agency you're registered with to find out more.
CERTIFICATES
Certificates and Statements of Attainments are automatically issued to all students who successfully complete any Accredited Courses (including Statement of Attainment, Certificates and Modules). All other courses (ie non - accredited) are not issued with certificates on completion - however a statement of participation certificate can be requested at a cost of $5.How do I get a reprint of a certificate if it has been lost, damaged or stolen? These can be ordered through us - please call in to the centre or phone us and provide the details of: your name, course name, date course was completed (as close as possible). The cost of these will vary depending on the type of course completed.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Many of our Certificate Courses provide the opportunity for participants to gain work experience in industry. Many students end up with ongoing paid work as a result of these placements during a course. You are fully covered under Adult Ed's workers compensation insurance whilst in an industry placement. Students are encouraged to seek their own placement opportunities with the assistance of the course tutor; however we also have many community business contacts that take on enthusiastic students for work experience each term if you need help finding a placement for yourself.Ask our receptionist if the course you are interested in has a work experience component (phone 44729202), alternatively, in most cases this information can be found within the course descriptions.

This provides a foundation of consultation with industry, employers, community organisations and the public for the planning and operation of our centre. GENERAL INFORMATION
- Courses are open to anyone over the age of 14 and 9 months.
- If you have a disability that could affect your participation in a class, please discuss this with the centre
- All courses are GST free
- The Centre has a small amount of funding to offer some subsidies for students
- The Centre strives to gain further funding throughout the year in order to offer free courses to the community
- Notification is given and fees refunded if courses are cancelled due to insufficient enrolments or matters out of our control
- If you would like to attend a course or workshop on any topic anywhere in the Eurobodalla Shire, contact us and we will try to arrange it
- We ask for feedback from students via our course evaluation sheets, your input helps us to maintain our quality assurance
